Music and Worship Ministries
"Sing to the Lord, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise." (Psalm 96:2, 4a)
We are always looking for those in our church community who feel called to serve God using their gift of music, especially as it relates to worship. There are several ways to use your gift in the Music and Worship Ministries at FBC Leland. Each of those areas plays a unique role and has its own set of expectations.
The Worship Choir at First Baptist Church Leland is made up of people who have a passion for God, a love and gift in music, and feel called to serve God through music in His church. The main role of the Worship Choir is to offer leadership in our worship services. We also have special performances throughout the year. There are no auditions to be a member of the Worship Choir. The Worship Choir rehearses on Sundays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on the Worship Center platform.

The Worship Team is made up of band members, vocal team members, and soloists who lead on stage during our worship services each week. In order to be considered for a Worship Team position, you should be at least 16 years old and complete a three-step interview process. The process is designed to help the Music and Worship staff to get to know you better and to offer you the best opportunity for your gifts to be used.

The Youth Worship Team leads our students in grades 7-12 in a weekly worship service. This is an opportunity for people, youth or adult, who have not only musical ability, but a desire to lead students in worship. Those interested in becoming part of this team should contact the Music and Worship staff or the Student Ministry staff to find out more information.

The Children's Christmas Choir is for students enrolled in grades 1-6. This is a seasonal choir that meets from September-December to prepare a Christmas musical presentation. There are also opportunities for adults who enjoy working with children to assist the choir directors in preparation for the musical.
The Technical Team assists in our worship services through audio and video ministry. A person serving on this team should have an interest and knowledge of computers, audio, and video equipment. A person interested in serving on this team should be at least 16 years old and complete an interview process with the Music and Worship staff in order to know you better and to offer you the best opportunity to use your gifts.
Anyone wanting further information about these or other opportunities should contact the Pastor Mark Edwards at medwards@fbcleland.orgor 910-371-2233.
